Leigh Ann’s Trip Journal: Entry #1

So far my trip is going well. My flights have been nice and smooth. The flight out of Detroit was about an hour late leaving while we waited for our pilots, so we had to sit on the plane and wait. I think I will be quite familiar with this plane by the time I get off, which will be sometime tomorrow. :o By the way, we have 4 pilots on this flight, not to mention their 1st officers. I’ve always wondered how they did these flights…I suppose they just fly in shifts.

When I first got on the plane I was disappointed to find that we don’t have the individual movie screen on our seats like thought we would. :( Good thing I brought lots of Harry Potter books to keep me busy. ;) Although, I was very pleased to find that no one ever came to occupy the seat right next to me which means I have much more room to relax, yay! I was also pleased when the TV screen showed our route and I realized we’d fly right over Alaska…hopefully I’ll be able to see through the clouds and catch a glimpse (Update: never got to see Alaska through the clouds).

They already served us dinner about 4:45 (a bit early I thought). The food was pretty good for plane food…salad, shrimp, chicken with potatoes and green beans, a roll, and a brownie. The brownie was especially good, and while eating it I caught my feet dangling from my seat and dancing around happily. I imagined that if Matt were with me, he’d have made some cute remark about my “happy feet.” This made me chuckle to myself because it reminded me of Lisa’s happy feet at her lingerie shower (if you were at the shower, you know what I’m talking about.) ;)

Oh yea, one more note, I met some Americans at my gate while waiting for my flight and they were coming to Japan to go up in the mountains for a few days to work on their martial arts…I thought that sounded pretty cool. One of them is named Richoh…doesn’t sound like a kung-fu name to me, but who knows, maybe one day we’ll see a movie like “Richoh, Kung-Fu Master.” hehe.

That’s all for now…still about 10 hours before we reach Osaka….
