- The Buckeyes’ offense has actually looked pretty good the past couple of games (of course, as soon as I say this…). Ted Ginn is actually started to make some big plays…man, if he gets an opening on a kick, he can fly.
- Props to myself for calling Georgia’s imminent loss! I think I’ll apply for Trev Alberts old job
. UCLA almost stole my thunder by going to overtime with Stanford, but their bubble is due to burst. They kind of remind me of the 2001 Illinois team…a decent team that just overachieves like mad, but isn’t as good as their record indicates. - How in the heck is Rutgers 6-2 given that they lost to the Illini? I don’t care if you are in the Big East, anyone that loses to the Illini has no right to such a decent record.
- Tommy Bowden needs to take Jim Tressel lessons on how to win close games. When you have five losses and two are in overtime and the other three were decided by a total of eight points, there’s something wrong.
- With Tennessee dropping out of the Top 25, this marks the second time this year a preseason Top 5 team has dropped out (Michigan did, but has since came back).
- If my count is right, 9 of the 11 Big Ten teams have been ranked in the Top 25 during the course of the season: Penn St., Ohio St., Wisconsin, Michigan, Minnesota, Northwestern, Purdue, Michigan St., and Iowa. That’s gotta be approaching a record. Don’t think the Hoosiers will crack the list this season and I’m darn sure the Illini won’t.
