Today marks the beginning of the 2006 World Cup in Germany. Leigh Ann and I got to watch the last half of the Germany-Costa Rica game at lunch today.
Quite the shoot-out. Here’s the schedule for the US team in group play (all times are Eastern Time):
- Against Czech Republic at noon on Monday, June 12 (ESPN2)
- Against Italy at 3pm on Saturday, June 17 (ABC)
- Against Ghana at 10am on Thursday, June 22 (ESPN)
They got a pretty tough draw. They’ll be lucky to make it into the round of sixteen.
When we were in Spain, we got to see Ronaldinho practicing with FC Barcelona. We didn’t know it at the time, but evidently he’s like the top player in the world. Here’s a link to a pic we got of him in the background.
