For all those who are interested in the status of my growing belly, Sunday, March 11 was the day when I woke up and all of a sudden my pants did not fit anymore. I was quite surprised because I went to put on my black dress pants for church and they just wouldn’t button at all. They had just fit the week before. I think I can still wear some of my jeans, but they are getting tight as well (even with the ponytail holder over the button trick). I have a couple of pairs of maternity pants, but it looks like I better get some more maternity clothes soon! Matt has been taking a profile picture of my belly every week, and in the last couple of weeks you can start to notice the difference. Eventually we’ll post some kind of timeline of those pictures.
Speaking of maternity clothes, I can’t believe how much some of the speciality stores charge for these clothes! I swear I saw one shirt that looked basically like a fancy t-shirt that cost $40! I hardly spend that much on my normal clothes that last me for years, much less would I buy those clothes that will only last a few months. Thank goodness for Old Navy maternity which has reasonable prices, cute styles, and sizes that fit. I’ve been looking online at places like craigslist to see if I can find some good used clothes, but so far I’ve only found clothes in sizes that would be too big for me. If any mommies out there have some good tips on getting the most of your maternity clothes, let me know!
Like I mentioned in my last post, my mom came to visit this weekend. We had so much fun! We did some casual shopping (of course), picked out a few new decorations for the house, put up some curtains in one room, and did a little yard work. It was such a beautiful weekend that we wanted to do something outside to enjoy the sunshine. This weekend my brother is coming to visit us for a week during his spring break.
Yay for visitors!

Can’t wait to see the belly pics. I bought a couple of pairs of larger size pants for this stage when some maternity pants were still too big. I’m sure you remember that I bought several maternity tank tops from Old Navy and I could wear shrugs, sweat shirt jackets, and button up shirts with them in the cooler weather and then them all by themselves in the summer. But Target, Old Navy, Kohls, and Motherhood Maternity were my favorite places to shop. Some places are crazy expensive! I got my swim suit on line at Gap maternity and it was worth the price b/c I used it A LOT! So fun!!
Whoo hoo!!!!! I can’t wait till Friday!!!!!
I can’t wait to see those pictures of your belly. How funny that it should change in one week. Like the prelude of the last month belly growth. Ahhh, so crazy that you’re pregnant and I’m missing the whole development. *sigh* I can’t wait to come down there to visit.
Now, I’ve woken up, and my pants haven’t fit before, too. I think it’s because I ate too much instead of pregnancy, though.
You said end of march for your sonogram…have you had it yet? Can’t wait to hear any news!
