The ‘real’ mathematics of the ‘real’ mathematicians, the mathematics of Fermat and Euler and Gauss and Abel and Riemann, is almost wholly ‘useless’ (and this is as true of ‘applied’ as of ‘pure’ mathematics). Kaelyn ate her first officially-approved solid food (Note that she has eaten some unofficial food…a small chunk of an apple she was licking and some ill-advised grapefruit juice that I gave her). We put some pics up in our Gallery and some movies also.

The first solids…BIG milestone. It’s the first step to indepedence with eating. We had Grace start after the holidays too and it seemed to work well. Very fun!
I think my favorite food milestone is when they start refusing to eat certain foods for completely unknown reasons since they seemed to like them just fine like last week.
She’s already done that with the bottle. For the first several weeks she took it fine. Then, one day we tried to give it to her and she refused and hasn’t really taken it since. So, pretty much she can never be separated from Leigh Ann for more than 2 hours at this point.
If they get hungry enough, they’ll eat…
That’s what “they” say anyway but not always easy to live by. Grace struggled with it for a while and we kept at it and she got over it eventually. But it is sure hard on the mom to feel that pressure. I can sympathize!!!
